Bulgari Tells the Time in Jewels and Refined Craftsmanship at LVMH Watch Week

It didn’t take year 2022 much to prove the excellent mastery of Bulgari in both watchmaking and jewelry design.

It didn’t take year 2022 much to prove the excellent mastery of Bulgari in both watchmaking and jewelry design. In fact, for this year’s edition of LVMH Watch Week, the Roman Maison chose to flaunt its expertise with an unparalleled combination of time and sparkle under the theme of “Time is a Jewel”.

Starting with its powerful icon, Bulgari introduced the Piccolissimo technology to the Serpenti line through one of the smallest existing mechanical movements. The new micro movement that was entirely conceived and produced within the Bulgari Manufacture in Le Sentier beats at the heart of 4 new Serpenti Misteriosi high jewelry secret watches. Bringing together opulence, comfort and lightness, they stand out by the possibility of wearing them on either wrist, as the container hidden within the snake’s head and housing the diamond-encrusted dial and the movement can be easily removed and turned in the other direction to be visible on the left or right arm.

A truly spectacular one-of-a-kind creation in every sense of the word, the Serpenti Misteriosi Romani high jewelry secret watch is a nod to the gold bracelets worn by upper-class society with its snake head that is crowned with a 10-carat Sri Lankan sapphire, not to mention the 35 carats of sapphires that form the serpent’s body and more than 60 carats of diamonds adorning the cuff.

Also enriching the Serpenti family are 3 new variations of Serpenti Seduttori with a new dramatic black lacquer dial, and the single-tour Serpenti Tubogas in a bimetallic combination of yellow gold and steel, or exclusively in yellow gold set with diamonds on either side of the reptile's head, embellished with a white opaline guilloché dial – marking a strong comeback for the sunny precious metal.

Known for balancing superior savoir-faire and the innovative aesthetics of ultra-thin watches to create highly complicated timepieces, Bulgari revisits its expertise in designing chiming watches, thus presenting the one-of-a-kind Octo Roma Emerald Grande Sonnerie and the Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon blue edition. While the first brings together the splendidness of sound and the boldness of precious stones in an extremely modern style, the second speaks the contemporary language of watchmaking through a combination of two classic and traditional complications, the tourbillon and the striking mechanism shining through a highly graphic skeletonized movement with blue bridges.

And like sculptures of light, the two Lvcea Intarsio timepieces translate, retransmit and enhance the characteristic luminescence of the Roman sky through dials made of 37 micro-elements of pink mother-of-pearl or blue aventurine cut then faceted by hand before being assembled to create a three-dimensional surface, capturing light in its full brilliance.
