Azzedine Alaïa had always cherished femininity, and through his debut collection for the House, Pieter Mulier embodies just that ever-so-creatively. He also celebrates the innate and eternal values of Alaïa along with the power of the hand and instinctive creation, as he reinterprets the House’s couture heritage and brings together modernity and poetry as ready-to-wear marvels. All in all, one thing gets the main attention in the Winter Spring 2022 collection: the architectural construction of the garment; every piece of art must be supple, light, and endlessly convenient for the lives of women.
What made the release of the collection even more charming is the fact that the show took place in the open on the Rue de Moussy, the home of Alaïa since 1987, thus bringing a lot of memories to life not only through the creative designs themselves.
